What makes a Chem Engineer.

Deadlines. After meeting one deadline, we have another. We work directly after we sleep and after we eat, and what spare time we have, we have to prep ourselves for the next deadline and that doesnt mean socializing and chilling.

We socialize with temperature, pressure and reactors and chemical components. And is anyone going to stop me from rambling on? No, because the facts are all there. Our face-book statuses are about how much agony we're in and our wardrobes are clad with tees and jeans and in the cold countries, hoodies.

To wear heels into a lab session, we are questioned if we're in the right place. And we're expected to be fresh and ready and smart and quick to respond , when we dont even have time to sleep. I have a friend who mistook her toothpaste for her facial cleanser.

We are expected to do things independently and when we do show signs of reliance, the four fingers get pointed at us for choosing what we thought was right for us.

The highlights are that we pride ourselves as being emotionally strong, but others view us as emotionally deficit and that we've lost all sense of feminity. Unlike others who vent and whine to their besties, our personal problems stay personal and we attempt to solve them on our own , lest its pointed out and thrown out in the open by our peers.

On a personal note, I'm drained and spent and the once seemingly bright prospect is just that it's going to end in a year's time.

And what do I do next, that's a huge question. Because as much as I crave for materialism, it doesnt happen if u just sit there and wait for it to happen, lest ur parents / grandparents own land/factories/businesses and what have you.

So money, why do you complicate things and as much as I want to say, I'm happy without lots of you, I really cant.
